What's Happening at Blue Ridge Hospice

Another Successful Year

Blue Ridge Hospice held its 5th Annual Camp Hope on Saturday, August 14, at the Jim Barnett Park in Winchester. Camp Hope is designed for children ages 6-16 who have experienced a lost; whether a loss through death, a divorce, moving to a new location, the loss of a pet, etc. This year’s Camp had a total of 43 campers in attendance, with 14 of those being repeat campers. The day consisted of arts and crafts, a demonstration from the US Martial Arts Academy, visits from the Blue Ridge Hospice Pet Therapy dogs, Chelsea and Mia, and group activities to allow children to express and share their feelings with others who are experiencing the same emotions.
