We Keep On Truckin’—But Better

Blue Ridge Hospice received a very generous gift in June from Harry Poling of Winchester who kindly donated a box truck for use by our thrift shops. An additional truck will be a tremendous help to the thrift stores in making timely pick ups from donors. Blue Ridge Hospice has been making an effort to keep two of its three trucks on the road every day in response to 70 or more calls for pick ups each week. This task will be much more achievable with the addition of the fourth truck. In addition, the new truck will make loading and unloading much easier because it is lower to the ground.
Thrift Shop Regional Manager Jacki Mumm was thrilled with this act of kindness. “Many days the three trucks we had would be full. With the current demand for pick ups, an additional truck will allow us to accommodate our donors quicker than had otherwise been possible.”
Blue Ridge Hospice is very grateful to Mr. Poling for his generosity.
