Training RequirementsAdministrative volunteers are required to attend a 2-hour office orientation. Patient/Family Support Volunteers are required to take an 18-hour training course and attend a 2-hour orientation at the Hospice facility. Patient Care Volunteer training requirements include the Patient/Family Support Training plus an additional 4-hour in-service. Volunteer TrainingVolunteer Meetings and Educational In-Services: Front Royal Patient/Family Volunteer Meeting Support and informational meeting for volunteers in the Front Royal and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their families. Light snacks will be served. Woodstock Patient/Family Support Volunteer meeting Support and informational meeting for volunteers in Shenandoah County and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their family members. Light snacks will be served. Winchester Patient/Family Support Volunteer meeting Support and informational meeting for volunteers in Shenandoah County and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their family members. Lunch will be served. New Volunteer Training OpportunitiesPatient/Family Support Volunteers assist patients and their families by providing respite, running errands, and providing emotional support and companionship.
