Volunteer Training

Training Requirements

Administrative volunteers are required to attend a 2-hour office orientation.

Patient/Family Support Volunteers are required to take an 18-hour training course and attend a 2-hour orientation at the Hospice facility. Patient Care Volunteer training requirements include the Patient/Family Support Training plus an additional 4-hour in-service.

Volunteer Training

Volunteer Meetings and Educational In-Services:

Front Royal Patient/Family Volunteer Meeting
Front Royal Office, Every 4th Friday at 2:00 PM

Support and informational meeting for volunteers in the Front Royal and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their families. Light snacks will be served.

Woodstock Patient/Family Support Volunteer meeting
Woodstock Office, Every 4th Friday at 2:00 PM

Support and informational meeting for volunteers in Shenandoah County and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their family members. Light snacks will be served.

Winchester Patient/Family Support Volunteer meeting
Winchester Office, Every 2nd Friday at 12:30 PM

Support and informational meeting for volunteers in Shenandoah County and surrounding areas who provide service to patients and/or their family members. Lunch will be served.

New Volunteer Training Opportunities

Patient/Family Support Volunteers assist patients and their families by providing respite, running errands, and providing emotional support and companionship. Classes are free of charge. For more information and registration, please contact Kelly or Sue at (540)536-5210.
